CCRMA's Confidentiality Statement

The Cameron County Regional Mobility Authority (CCRMA) is committed to safeguarding the integrity and confidentiality of the account information of the people who use the CCRMA toll roads. This includes your name, addresses, e-mail address, license plate numbers, photographs of license plates, travel data, credit card numbers, and banking information.

What are the responsibilities of CCRMA employees?

CCRMA employees are held to high standards when it comes to protecting confidential information. CCRMA limits access to those employees and contractors who need access to confidential customer information in order to operate and perform CCRMA business. All employees and contractors are required to protect confidential customer information. Those who improperly use or disclose confidential information or fail to report misuse or unauthorized disclosures will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment and other legal action, regardless of whether he or she benefited from the disclosed information. A person who distributes or misuses confidential information may be subject to civil and criminal prosecution under the Texas Government Code and other applicable laws.

What information does CCRMA collect? 

CCRMA collects information from you when you travel on our toll roads, register on our website, fill out an online form, submit an inquiry via email, pay your Toll Bill or Notice of Toll Violation, create or update your account, or speak with one of our representatives.

How does CCRMA use your information?

Any information CCRMA collects from you may be used in one of the following ways:

  • To personalize your experience. Your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs.
  • To process transactions. Your information is used to process account transactions and provide verification of identity.
  • To send periodic correspondence via mail and e-mail. It is important for CCRMA to provide you with current information about the toll road; therefore, we reserve the right to occasionally send you information. The physical address, e-mail address, and/or phone number that you provide for contact purposes may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your use of the CCRMA toll roads, as well as occasional CCRMA news, updates, related product or service information, etc. Please ensure that your contact information on file remains up-to-date to avoid violations and ensure CCRMA can provide you with pertinent information about your account.
  • We may use third party service providers to facilitate our services, and, to the extent necessary for that purpose, we may disclose your Personal Information to them. For example, we will be disclosing your credit card information and credit card payments to our credit card processing providers. Personal Information will also be provided to TPS CCRMA staff who process toll violation notices and to enforce toll requirements. We may have to disclose Personal Information if we are required to do so by law, such as to the government or third parties pursuant to a court order or other similar circumstances. Absent a written certification that waiting for a warrant would be detrimental to an investigation or expose a law enforcement officer to danger, we will not provide Personal Information requested by a law enforcement agency without a search warrant or other similar court order. We may disclose information about you to our service providers, as we believe necessary or appropriate in connection with investigations of activities that could expose us to liability, including investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringement, piracy, or other similar activities.

How does CCRMA protect your information?

While no data transmission over the Internet or other wireless network can be guaranteed to be perfectly safe, CCRMA implements a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you create an account or access your personal information on our website.

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and organizational processes and procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect from you.

Does CCRMA disclose any information to outside parties?

CCRMA does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. This does not include trusted third parties who agree to keep this information confidential and assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you. In addition, we automatically gather general statistical information about our customers. We use this data in the aggregate to determine how our customers use our services so that we can provide improvements.

We will only release your information when we believe it is appropriate or are required to by law, to enforce our policies, to protect CCRMA's or others' rights, property, or safety. Additionally, we may provide your information as needed to collection agencies only as it pertains to a debt owed to CCRMA, credit card companies, check processing companies, banks, and our interoperability partners.

By using our services, you consent to the terms and the use of your confidential information in accordance with our privacy policy.

 Will the privacy policy change?

CCRMA reserves the right to update, modify, or rescind this Privacy Policy from time to time and in a manner consistent with state law. We will notify you in writing of any material change in this Privacy Policy before that change goes into effect. If there is a material change in this Privacy Policy, the change will also be posted on the TPS CCRMA website at www.tpsccrma.org/Home/privacynotice.
